Aloha Council Reps: •
I am writing in support of this measure that will allow for the conversation to continue about the best possible solution
to improving the road infrastructure in lower Puna. We are all Ohana on this beautiful island We all need to work
• together,talk together, and collaborate to create the best possible solutions for our communities.
•
This Bill will provide the funding that will allow for a study so we can make an informed decision about how to best
proceed.This bill respects the homestead communities of Pana'ewa and Keaukaha.To vote against this bill will have the
consequence of tightening a noose around lower Puna, keeping it paralyzed from finding a solution and making the
possibility of a looming tragedy if Hwy 130 becomes impassable.At this point we have no way out of lower Puna except
Hwy 130.
A study will help us determine the best possible solution to this predicament.
I ask the council representatives to hear our voices. By passing this bill,you will give lower Puna the opportunity to see
how we are supported by all of the Island of Hawaii, how we can work together in mutual respect and how we will have
a widening horizon of hope that we can find alternatives to our current challenges.
