RE: Support Testimony Urging County Council to Pass Bill 131
Aloha Honorable Council Chair Kimball and Esteemed Council Members,
I am writing to request the passage of Bill 131 Puna Alternate Route study.This initiative is
critical for addressing the rapidly growing population in Puna and the need for new roadway
infrastructure to keep up with this growth.
It is not just a solution to traffic—an alternate route also creates multiple ways to exit and enter
Puna during an emergency or a natural disaster, like a volcanic eruption,hurricane, or wild fire.
I urge the Council to pass Bill 131 to secure the study's funding.
