I have attended meetings where state representatives swore up and down the pahoa highway was only going to get roundabouts there was no way in hell they were going to be any intersection lights fact. I was there 35 years ago with Jenny and Bonnie in public meetings to update the puna community development plan, and there was much discussion about alternatives roots one was route 148 I believe more or less right road to the saddle road another was call koamahana Street route from Hilo to roughly the lower intersection of the keaau bypass below where Shipman has a 300 home subdivision plan alongside shipment industrial. Meanwhile Shipman can't let go of railroad from keaau down past pahoa town, a side thought maybe there's a conspiracy just maybe? The state of Hawaii can't resolve the transportation issues of the lower puna and Shipman can't release public lands railroad avenue or public land back to the public?
