A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF ORCHIDS TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAIʻI DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION.
WHEREAS, Quintal Farms is donating orchids to the County of Hawai‘i Department of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, these orchids, valued at approximately $30,000, will be planted around the Pana‘ewa Rainforest Zoo and Garden by the Orchid Society; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, provides that the council, on behalf of the county, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities, or other personal
property or of real estate or any interest in real estate; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I, in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12 of the Hawaiʻi County Charter, the County of Hawaiʻi, accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Quintal Farms, Attn: Frank Quintal, PO Box 462, Kurtistown, HI 96760, acknowledging this
generous donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to the Department of Parks and Recreation, the Department of Finance, and the Office of Management.
