Re: Transmitting Resolution No. 430-24, Draft 2; A Resolution Urging The Hawai`i State
Legislature To Amend Chapter 142, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, To Provide For Greater
Public Safety Against The Risk Of Damage, Injury, And Death Posed By Dangerous
Dogs By Increasing Enforcement And Penalties Against Owners Of Such Dogs.
Attached please find Resolution No. 430-24, Draft 2. Resolution No. 430-24 was amended with
the contents of Communication No. 712.20 and duly approved by the Council on February 21,
2024.
The Council voted to suspend Rule No. 23-1(d) of the Rules of Procedure and Organization of
the Council, which requires the holdover of a substantively amended resolution, and adopted
Resolution No. 430-24, as amended to Draft 2.
