Re: Capital Budget
Extensive termite damage and deficiencies to the air conditioning system were
discovered at the Seven Seas Luau House. Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance
appropriating $500,000 for the project.

REQUEST: CIP appropriation ($500,000) entitled Seven Seas Luau House
Improvements
BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION: Extensive termite damage has been
discovered, resulting in the need to undertake extensive building repairs.
In addition, deficiencies discovered in the air conditioning system will
require extensive repairs. It would be economically beneficial to replace the
existing system, which is located on the building's roof, with an on-ground
system, thus also eliminating the source of potential roof leakage problems.
