Re: Resolution Deleting and Creating Position
Enclosed is a resolution deleting Position No. 2816, Mason Temporary and
creating an Equipment Operator Instructor Temporary position. As an
instructor would be able to train the Public Works employees on the safety
methods of operation of power tools as well as all types of motorized equipment,
the Department of Public Works would be able to comply with the union
contracts by providing training in addition to being more efficient and flexible
during emergencies.

Temporary As Needed {TAN) Mason Position to Equipment
Operator Instructor, Temporary As Needed (TAN). Position No. 2816.
No Funding Required.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The need to train our employees on the Safetl Methods of
operation of power tools and the operation of all types of
motorized equipment is needed. With this Temporary As Needed
position, our Public Works Department will be more efficient
and flexible in doing our much needed training. This will
allow our Department to comply with the Union Contracts on
providing training to employees also. By training our
employees, we will be more efficient and flexible in doing
our work, especially during emergencies.
This Temporary As Needed position (TAN) does not require
funding.
