RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR MULTI-YEAR LEASES OF THREE (3) FIRE APPARATUS FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more
than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai‘i wishes to enter into multi-year lease agreements for five (5) years, for three (3) fire apparatus consisting of one hazmat truck and two engines; and
WHEREAS, the hazmat truck will be replacing a vehicle at the Kaumana Fire Station and the engines will replace units at the Pāhoa and Volcano Fire Stations; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I:
That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into five (5) year lease agreements for the equipment as indicated above, for the Fire Department.
That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawai‘i shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of Management, the Finance Department and the Fire Department.
