Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs, to which was referred
Communication No. 733, reports as follows:
Communication No. 733, transmitted by Mayor Mitchell D. Roth, dated February 14, 2024,
requests the Council's review and confirmation of the nomination of Lisa Fukumitsu to the
Board of Ethics.
Executive Assistant to the Mayor Pomaika`i Bartolome was present in the Hilo Chambers to
introduce Ms. Fukumitsu,who was also present in Chambers.
Several members spoke in favor of the appointment.
Pursuant to Article XIV, Section 14-5 of the Hawai`i County Charter, members of the Board of
Ethics shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council.
Your Committee on Governmental Operations and External Affairs is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Communication No. 733, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of
Lisa Fukumitsu to the Board of Ethics.
