To whom it may concern,
My name is Rhonda Hess-Sabaratnam. I realize that my testimony is late. I have two jobs, but I do hope
you are able to consider why I feel we need this access road. I have been here landlocked for five years.
My house has no running water, and does have permits. I am concerned about the safety and well-being
of all my neighbors. Currently, I have no fire or emergency route and with the lava surrounding my house.
I am worried about a fire of which I wouldn't be able to escape from. With the experience of the Maui fire
the need is dire.
I have lava on all three sides with a 20 foot entrance. I am 59 years old and have been here on Holo Lio
road since 2007. I am currently a teacher at Pahoa High and Intermediate. I have served this our
community teaching for 18 years.) have been locked on upper Noni Farm Road many times due to
downed trees. I have lost work. My health is not the best and I worry something could happen. I most
graciously implore some relief for myself and the others. I pray every day this road will open. I have been
a community member for 35 years, graduated UHH. Please help us fix our road. The fear of a fire ripping
through here and being trapped has been with me for five years. Please help us.
Mahalo and thank you for your time Comm.
