Re:Support Resolution 443-24,: Groundwater Study
Aloha,
I have been living in Leilani Estates, near the PGV plant since 2013.
I support PGV in producing clean energy that helps Hawaii reach its target date of 2050 of 100%
sustainable energy production within the state.
I support the Council in adopting Resolution 443-24 to help ensure that this clean energy will be
produced cleanly without any deleterious impacts on our community.
I also support this resolution as one means of healing divisions that exist between the County
and our community and between PGV Community.
The Adler Report was commissioned by Mayor Billy Kenoi to study the impact on PGV on the
environment.Unfortunately,the Study was stopped by the subsequent administration, under
Mayor Kim.
Here is an opportunity to develop a constructive dialogue between the Community and the
County and the Community and PGV that will hopefully demonstrate that 1)the County will act
as the people's representative in ensuring that PGV is producing energy that does not have any
adverse impact on our community and the 'aina and 2) PGV will be transparent about its efforts
to comply with environmental regulations.
Trust needs to be reestablished and this Resolution 443-24 in a road map to begin to create a
deeper sense of understanding, communication, and partnership of Community, County and
PGV.
