I am pleased to nominate Emily Taaroa of District 5 to the Water Board.
Emily is a lifelong resident of Hawai`i who possesses a unique and diverse perspective. Her
expertise and skills were honed through her 15 years of service in the office at W.H. Shipman,
which provided her with invaluable insights into various aspects of management and operations.
Eleven years ago, Emily embarked on an entrepreneurial journey by establishing Punachicks
Farm, which is a testament to her innovative spirit and commitment to sustainable agriculture.
She realizes the significance of responsible water management practices in ensuring the long-
term viability of Hawai`i's agricultural sector and ecosystems.
Emily volunteered on the Hawaii Farm Bureau board from 2020-2022. If confirmed, she will
serve a term ending December 31, 2028.
