My name is Marlene A. Zeug, and I am the lead project manager and facilitator for the Pahoa Promise
Partnership project. This collaboration is a community-based initiative that convenes a network of early
childhood, education, health,and family agencies to examine - and define - a continuum of care so that
every keiki in Pahoa is healthy,safe, and thriving.
The partnership with the County has been invaluable,and I am excited and pleased that the County has
proactively stepped forward to support the Early Childhood system on this island and appreciate that the
ARPA funding will be used thoughtfully and sustainably. Such commitment to systemic improvement will
go a long way to serve our island's children and families.
After a year of bringing partners to the table, one of the ambitious targets set by the community is
to change the Kindergarten Entrance Assessment data by 10%.Working alongside the County,partners
have developed a comprehensive plan to support children from birth to 5 to achieve this goal.
Thank you for making early childhood a priority.
