Subject: Support Bill 138, requiring semi-annual reports from the Planning Director
Aloha Chair Evans and members of the Governmental Operations and External Affairs Committee,
Thank you for the opportunity to support this timely Bill. Having this detailed information readily available
in accurate, up-to-date—and publicly accessible—reports will be so helpful toward gaining a clearer
overview into what has and is being planned for our Island and communities.
As you all well know, citizens (including myself)frequently express frustration with the piecemeal
approach to rezoning and development that has resulted in degraded and inadequate supporting
infrastructure. Being able to clearly identify(and map) current, extended, expired and/or"stale" zoning '
changes, along with developments that affect our shared Island, can only promote more cohesive and
thoughtful consideration of the broader impacts and benefits of each individual project.

support.
