Aloha Council, •
Please vote to make the changes to Chapter 4 for Animal Laws in Bill 139 which are intended to add clarity and actually incorporate the help
and needed changes that the public has requested as revealed by your taskforce.
Please help alleviate animal suffering and actually help get something done by what appears to be simply a huge grift called'animal control'
which does near to nothing yet continues with even more money in it's budget than ever before with LESS services than ever before.
Please act upon and address the issues reported in your sanctioned Task Force as list-did you know this is what the grifting agency called
animal control has been up to:
*Animal Control and Protection Agency staff tell callers that they don't do cats. The calling resident is referred to DLNR whose jurisdiction is
"wildlife and feral"animals. Religating this responsibility to DLNR puts these abandoned/stray/lost pets cats in line for eradication which has
already started with the poisoning of 70 plus cats at the Kea'au Transfer Station with rat poison--a horrible death. There are more reports of
cat killings.
(Once you see and experience this maddness,you'd know the run around that this GRIFTING agency has been giving the public in lieu of
services!!
*Two County workers have informed several animal welfare people of the alleged plan for eradication of the cats in public spaces.This is
animal cruelty when abandoned pet species animals are treated like vermin. Most of these animals are being cared for,fed,spayed or
neutered,and received medical treatment if needed ALL from places or the community itself, but NOT the animal control agency!
(This is taxation without representation to have given them ANOTHER million dollars and they have REDUCED services to NIL!!)
This Bill 139 also does not completely clarify which animals are under jurisdiction of Animal Control. Abandoned,stray,lost cats should be
included. Why not clarify that when making other changes?
From County Code: "Animals,"unless provided otherwise,include but are not limited to those animals that
are customary and usual pets such as dogs,cats, rabbits, birds, honeybees and other
beasts which are maintained on the premises of a dwelling unit and kept by the resident
of a dwelling unit solely for personal enjoyment and companionship,such as,without
limitation,for a hobby,for legal sporting activities and for guarding of property;
animals exclude aviary game birds and fish as defined in Hawaii Revised
Statutes.
Please reach into your souls, do the right thing, take the advisement of your task force and-HELP this community with their pet
population needs or STOP grifting over$3mi!lion dollars a year from our community for such neglect from this agency from the
past three years!!!It's UNTENABLE!
