Subject: Pls pass bill 140-24 to open Kalapana tfr station 2x/week
Hi, I live along the red road and the Kalapana Transfer Station is critical to our sanitation. It used to be open twice a week
and had recycling. Pls return it to that pre-pandemic operation.All week long,trash piles up outside the gates creating a
terribly unsanitary situation. Not everyone has space to keep trash at their property for a whole week. Pls help a very
fast-growing part of our county-this need to be open twice a week is only going to be greater and without it, the
unsanitary trash will only pile up higher every week.
And with regards to recycling,there are plenty people down here who don't have the means to get to Pahoa.This means
that they are just dumping their recycling into the trash.As a community that has a beach as beautiful as Kehena,we
need to do our part to support recycling, making it easier for the residence down here, not harder.
