Council Members
Regarding bill 125, please support this bill. Bicycles are a serious menace on both Akoni Pule Hwy
headed toward Pololu and on Hawi Road. There is no shoulder nor a bike lane.The cyclists are unable to
keep with the speed of traffic. To compound the issue,when there are multiple riders they often ride
abreast of each rather than in single file. Drivers should not be forced to hit another vehicle head on, hit a
cyclist, or hold up traffic behind them which can lead to congestion and/or accidents. Common sense is
to keep bike tours in areas where there is infrastructure that provides for both cyclists and vehicles to
share the road safely.
