Cars come racing by and the roads are narrow. At many times,County workers are doing roadwork and there are times when it is even more dangerous for people to be working or riding or even walking. There are sometimes uneven areas and drop offs not to mention mud and plants and water holes. adding commercial bike tours would create an even more hazardous situation. One year ago, I had an accident crossing the street in front of our property. I first lost my balance when stepping into a hole in the grassy embankment, gaining momentum, then tripping on the then elevated ledge of the road which was in the midst of being re-paved. I had a severe break, open wound, went into shock and was taken to Kohala hospital to get stabilized, then had emergent hand surgery at Queens North Hawaii Hospital. I would hate to have more traffic on these Country one-lane roads that would increase the likelihood of more horrific accidents.
