RE: Written Testimony Resolution #457-24
Aloha Honorable County Council Members,
• This letter in regards to Res. 457-24 Councilwoman GALIMBA appropriation of contingency funds
to support our non-profit Annual Prince Kuhio Day Hoolaulea Event. The event is like a mini-model
of the near future "The Ka'u Hawaiian Cultural Center Project'; which consist of hula & music,
arts & crafts, food vending, Cultural exhibition-canoe, poi pounding, lei making, ukulele, and
Hawaiian games. It would be like an economic stimulus- small business entrepreneurship,
tourism- visitor center, and Hawaii Culture preservation/education-school. Also, the event will
always bring unity (Lokahi)to the community coming together as one, build collaboration to one
source of self-reliance and ownership to the land (aina) and its.people (ohana).
The$9,000.00 is needed for Advertisement, music/sound equipment and stage rental.
At this time, we strongly and humbly asked for Council Members support and vote to award our
non-profits request to continue this Annual Prince Kuhio Day Hoolaulea Event.
Mahalo Nui Loa,
