A request for funding
The Kau Coffee Festival is an annual celebration of the unique and exquisite coffee grown in the Kau district of
Hawaii.The festival features a variety of events that showcase the culture, heritage, and natural beauty of Kau,
as well as the hard work and passion of the coffee farmers. The festival aims to promote the Kau Coffee Brand
at the national and international levels, and to support the development of education, agriculture, and nature
tourism in the region.
• Support the local economy and community: The Kau Coffee Festival generates revenue and
employment for the local businesses and residents, and fosters a sense of pride and belonging among
the diverse and multiethnic population of Kau.The festival also supports the coffee farmers,who are the
backbone of the Kau economy, by providing them with a platform to showcase their products, network
with buyers and distributors, and access training and resources.
• Contribute to the sustainability and conservation of the environment: The Kau Coffee Festival is
committed to managing tourism in a sustainable manner, consistent with the preservation of natural
resources, cultural values, and community well-being. The festival also educates the visitors and the
public about the importance of protecting the environment and the wildlife of Kau, such as the
endangered nene goose and the native ohia forest.
We invite you to join us and approve the partial funding of the Kau Coffee Festival, and to be a part of this
exciting and meaningful celebration of coffee, culture, and nature. By funding the festival,you will not only help
us achieve our goals and objectives, but also demonstrate your commitment and support to the Kau community
and the coffee industry.
