COUNTY OF HAWAPI <br />STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />RESOLUTION NO. 471 24 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE HAWAVI EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT <br />AGENCY (HI-EMA), PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A GRANT TO <br />THE HAWAVI FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into an agreement with <br />the Hawai'i Emergency Management Agency (HI-EMA); and <br />WHEREAS, the HI-EMA has authorized $33,200 of federal funds to be <br />provided to the County of Hawai'i Fire Department; and <br />WHEREAS, these funds will be used for the Hazard Mitigation Grant <br />Program (HMGP) — Post Mana Road Fire program to reduce the risk of wildfires; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br />departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the <br />federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the <br />powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other <br />assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those <br />powers; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I, in <br />accordance with section 46-7, Hawai'i Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the <br />County of Hawaii is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement <br />and related documents with the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency for grant <br />funds as described above. <br />
