STATE OF HAWAI`I
RESOLUTION NO. 471 24
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN
AGREEMENT WITH THE HAWAVI EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
AGENCY (HI-EMA), PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A GRANT TO
THE HAWAVI FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into an agreement with
the Hawai'i Emergency Management Agency (HI-EMA); and
WHEREAS, the HI-EMA has authorized $33,200 of federal funds to be
provided to the County of Hawai'i Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used for the Hazard Mitigation Grant
Program (HMGP) — Post Mana Road Fire program to reduce the risk of wildfires;
and
WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County
departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the
federal or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the
powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other
assistance in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those
powers; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I, in
accordance with section 46-7, Hawai'i Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the
County of Hawaii is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement
and related documents with the Hawaii Emergency Management Agency for grant
funds as described above.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii
shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of Management, the
Department of Finance, and the Fire Department.
