...^�� <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI`I : +� `.- °=',.�_� • STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> +rE cF•Ak <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 473 24 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAI`I COUNTY <br /> ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY COUNCIL FOR A REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES <br /> RELATING TO THE KEA'AU FAMILY FUN DAY. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i County Economic Opportunity Council (HCEOC) is a <br /> 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to prevent, alleviate, and eliminate poverty on <br /> Hawai`i Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, HCEOC partnered with Jarneski Rentals to host a Kea'au Family Fun Day, <br /> which was a free, family-friendly, community event held on March 29, 2024, at Herbert Shipman <br /> Park; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kea'au Family Fun Day included an egg hunt, waterslides, bounce <br /> houses, face painting,balloon artist, live music, food trucks, and picture taking with the Easter <br /> Bunny; and <br /> WHEREAS, HCEOC is requesting a reimbursement for the expense of hiring four <br /> special-duty police officers to ensure the safety of those attending the Kea'au Family Fun Day; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that provide <br /> programs, projects, or activities in a drug-free and alcohol-free environment; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to HCEOC for a reimbursement of expenses relating to the <br /> Kea'au Family Fun Day. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
