Aloha Hawaii County Council Chair Kimball, Committee Chair Evans, and Council Members,
I am writing in opposition of Bill 143 to amend the charter and increase the term of office for Council
Members. Council Members should be held accountable for their actions and performance of their duties on a
regular basis. Increasing that interval from two years to four years reduces the ability of our community to
exercise their voting rights in selecting our leadership.
Please vote no on Bill 143.
