oµyY`orkfyy.T COUNTY OF HAWAI`I STATE OF HAWAI`I RESOLUTION NO. 483 24 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE MEN OF PA`A TO SUPPORT THE 2024 BRUDDAH KUZ YOUTH JAMM EVENT. WHEREAS, the Men of Pa`a, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, empowers and enables Native Hawaiians through the process of Ho`okanaka, a culturally -rooted, communally -relevant process of personal change catalyzed by servant leadership; and WHEREAS, the Men of Pa`a, in collaboration with Bruddah Kuz, Kauhale Kanaka O Puna, and the Hawaii County Youth Resilience Capacity Area, are providing supports for placemaking initiatives to bring the community together for the 2024 Bruddah Kuz Youth Jamm event that will take place on Saturday, April 20 at the Billy "William" Kenoi Pahoa District Park Gymnasium from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and WHEREAS, the Bruddah Kuz Youth Jamrn is an annual community -led event that focuses on empowering youth and building social cohesion through live music, food, art, and makahiki festivities; and WHEREAS, the Men of Pa`a is requesting funds for five kupuna practitioners to hold cultural workshops, a plaster of ceremonies, a photo -v ideographer, and traffic cones; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports drug -free and alcohol -free events that enrich the lives of community members; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief fiords shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief fiords from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Men of Pa`a to support the 2024 Bruddah Kuz Youth Jamm event. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai` i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
