Subject; Animal Control Budget Review, PLEASE
Aloha Council Representatives,
I am writing to you today as a final effort for you to PLEASE consider the heartfelt requestfor a:W
charter and for the Animal Control INEFFECTIVENESS that has been occurring especially,,-§incepNPD
took over the Animal Control Issues and needs, at least the top four, of our community as addressed
in Your Task Force Findings.
As of now, the Animal Control is getting more money the HIHS or HRR ever got and yet there are
virtually little to no services being implemented despite the Mayor taking credit for what the volunteer
organization of done in the place of animal control thanks to the HPD consistently only handling
Priority 1 calls and then either not answering the phone at all or refering the community to volunteer
rescuers and facilities who have been OVERWHELMED for over a year or more trying to pick up the
slack of the ineffective animal control!!
PLEASE HELP THE COMMUNITY!! You gave animal control another million dollars and still despite
the false reporting of improvements or results from Animal control services, they are still killing at
least 100 animals a week and they ARE NOT actually facilitating a lot of reunions.
We in the communities especially plagued with animal need issues know the truth and if you listen to
the rescuers and volunteers who you should all know by name now due to their on -going dedicated
issues to try and educate you all to the truth of the communities needs are great!!
" Do you know it's been 9 months since wild dogs killed a man in Ocean View?
*'Do you know that little girl who's eye blinded and face destroyed is still suffering from the dog
attack she received from her neighbor's dogs?
V Do you care that people aren't safe and continue to breed and dump animals because there is no
animal control vouchers or spay -neuter clinics offered by animal control with their HUGE over 3
million dollar budget?
'Do you care that animal control hired some animal trainer from Disney world florida instead of a
local person familiar with this island and our issues to run Animal control and gave him a raise for him
to accept a position he IS NOT QUALIFIED nor has any experience to do?
Please helpl Please address the charter and animal control issuesll
Thank you for hearing my plea for the animal, the amazing volunteers and organizations who have
been burdened with doing the job that Animal Control is being paid handsomely to do and have not
been doing.
PLease stop the madness! Please address the animal control problem and issues as discovered in
your own task force findings!!
