STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 490 24. <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING THE SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE NORTH <br /> KOHALA COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER TO SUPPORT THE "KOHALA <br /> VOICES: YOUTH DOCUMENTARY FILM PROGRAM" PROJECT. <br /> WHEREAS,the North Kohala Community Resource Center (NKCRC) is a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide local support, funding, and education for <br /> successful projects that benefit the community of North Kohala; and <br /> WHEREAS,the NKCRC is partnering with the Kohala Oral History Project to support <br /> the "Kohala Voices: Youth Documentary Film Program"project; and <br /> WHEREAS, "Kohala Voices: Youth Documentary Film Program"is a youth program <br /> that connects students to cultural, historical, and environmental resources in North Kohala. <br /> WHEREAS, the NKCRC is requesting funds to purchase a laptop, camera, venue rental <br /> and refreshments, as well as a film instructor honorarium; and <br /> WHEREAS; the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that provide <br /> programs,projects, or activities in a drug- and alcohol-free environments for Hawai`i, especially <br /> youth; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Conrol to provide a grant to the North Kohala Community Resource Center to support the <br /> "Kohala Voices: Youth Documentary Film Program"project. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
