RESOLUTION NO. 490 24.
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING THE SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE NORTH
KOHALA COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER TO SUPPORT THE "KOHALA
VOICES: YOUTH DOCUMENTARY FILM PROGRAM" PROJECT.
WHEREAS,the North Kohala Community Resource Center (NKCRC) is a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide local support, funding, and education for
successful projects that benefit the community of North Kohala; and
WHEREAS,the NKCRC is partnering with the Kohala Oral History Project to support
the "Kohala Voices: Youth Documentary Film Program"project; and
WHEREAS, "Kohala Voices: Youth Documentary Film Program"is a youth program
that connects students to cultural, historical, and environmental resources in North Kohala.
WHEREAS, the NKCRC is requesting funds to purchase a laptop, camera, venue rental
and refreshments, as well as a film instructor honorarium; and
WHEREAS; the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that provide
programs,projects, or activities in a drug- and alcohol-free environments for Hawai`i, especially
youth; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Conrol to provide a grant to the North Kohala Community Resource Center to support the
"Kohala Voices: Youth Documentary Film Program"project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
