OJ�SV OF <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI`I =:5;-,?! • STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> ,rt OFNF'� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 494 24 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII <br /> COUNTY ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY COUNCIL FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF <br /> EXPENSES RELATING TO THE KEA`AU FAMILY FUN DAY. <br /> WHEREAS,the Hawai`i County Economic Opportunity Council (HCEOC) is a <br /> 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing residents with access to economic relief <br /> and opportunity to prevent, alleviate, and eliminate poverty on Hawai`i Island; and <br /> WHEREAS, HCEOC partnered with Jarneski Rentals to coordinate the Kea'au Family <br /> Fun Day, an Easter event that was held at the Herbert Shipman Park on March 29, 2024; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kea'au Family Fun Day was free to the general public with fun <br /> activities like egg hunts, waterslides, bounce houses, face painting, and picture taking with the <br /> Easter Bunny; and <br /> WHEREAS, HCEOC is requesting reimbursement of expenses for sound equipment, <br /> security, easter eggs, candies, and small lunch boxes for community volunteers; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that <br /> provide drug-free and alcohol-free events for the community; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawai`i County Economic Opportunity Council for <br /> reimbursement of expenses related to the Kea'au Family Fun Day. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
