A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING THE SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE NORTH KOHALA
COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER TO SUPPORT THE “KOHALA VOICES: YOUTH DOCUMENTARY FILM PROGRAM” PROJECT.
WHEREAS, the North Kohala Community Resource Center (NKCRC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide local support, funding, and education for successful projects
that benefit the community of North Kohala; and
WHEREAS, the NKCRC is partnering with the Kohala Oral History Project to support the “Kohala Voices: Youth Documentary Film Program” project; and
WHEREAS, “Kohala Voices: Youth Documentary Film Program” is a youth program that connects students to cultural, historical, and environmental resources in North Kohala.
WHEREAS, the NKCRC is requesting funds to purchase a laptop, camera, venue rental and refreshments, as well as a film instructor honorarium; and
WHEREAS; the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that provide programs, projects, or activities in a drug- and alcohol-free environments for Hawaiʻi, especially youth;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai‘i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying
the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Conrol to provide a grant
to the North Kohala Community Resource Center to support the “Kohala Voices: Youth Documentary Film Program” project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai‘i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
