COUNTY OF HAWAPI <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY <br />DONATION OF $750,000 FROM THE DANIEL R. SAYRE MEMORIAL <br />FOUNDATION <br />WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is donating $750,000 <br />to the Department of Parks and Recreation; and <br />WHEREAS, this donation will be used for the design, permitting and other <br />costs associated with the construction of a new multi -use community <br />center/emergency shelter facility at Spencer Kalani Schutte District Park; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XI II, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter <br />provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of <br />money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real <br />estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code <br />states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall <br />within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted <br />by resolution approved by the Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the <br />acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that in <br />accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and <br />Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of <br />the County of Hawai'i accepts this donation. <br />
