Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of Gordon N. Ogasawara of Kohala
(CD-9) to the Hawaii County Tax Board of Review to replace Jesse K. Manlapit
of Kohala (CD-9), whose term of office expired on December 31, 1999.
Mr. Ogasawara is a 16-year resident of Hawaii and since 1998, has been the
Executive Director of Kokua Housing, Inc. Prior to that, he was aVice-President
with Chalon International of Hawaii, Inc. (1989-1998). He is a member of the
North Hawaii Community Hospital Board. He states that he does not have any
political party affiliation.
If approved, Mr. Ogasawara will serve a term to end on December 31, 2004.
