Aloha Council Chair Kimball and Council Members:
I am pleased to nominate Lyan K. Youngs of District 5 to the Salary Commission.
Lyan is a Hawai`i island native. She graduated from Kamehameha Schools Hawai`i and obtained
an Associate of Science degree in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University. Later,
she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and Management with a focus on
Information Systems from the same university.
Lyan's professional experience as the Director of Finance and Fund Development for
Neighborhood Place of Puna showcases her hands-on involvement in financial management and
strategic planning. Furthermore, her roots in Hawai`i reflect a deep connection to the local
community and an understanding of its unique needs. If confirmed, she will serve a term ending
December 31, 2028.
