F N,1�•i•, <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAI`I +� �_' /'••`- STATE OF HAWAI`I <br /> 7rE OF•N►•i <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 504 24 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO '0 KA`U KAKOU FOR <br /> ITS 2024 FAMILY FUN FEST AND INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION. <br /> WHEREAS, '0 Ka`u Kakou(OKK) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that sponsors <br /> and supports community activities in the district of Ka`u that enhance the quality of life for keiki, <br /> kupuna, and businesses; and <br /> WHEREAS, OKK coordinated its 2024 Family Fun Fest with an Independence Day <br /> celebration set for July 6, 2024, in Na`alehu, featuring inflatable water slides and bouncy castles <br /> for the keiki, and bingo games for all to enjoy; and <br /> WHEREAS, OKK will provide lunch and refreshments for everyone as well as prizes for <br /> the bingo games; and <br /> WHEREAS, OKK is requesting funds to assist with the rental of the inflatable <br /> equipment for the keiki, the cost of security officers, the purchase of food, drinks, and supplies <br /> for this free community event; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Parks and Recreation supports this event as it is in <br /> alignment with the goals of the department to promote safe and healthy community activities; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to '0 Ka`u Kakou for expenses related to its 2024 <br /> Family Fun Fest and Independence Day Celebration. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
