tp.��tYf K 114 <br />'4. <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI`I STATE OF HAWAII <br />•+f14 12rY4 ��'�\ <br />RESOLUTION NO. 521 24 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAPI KEIKI <br />RODEO ASSOCIATION INC. FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS KEIKI RODEO <br />EVENTS. <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Keiki Rodeo Association Inc. (HKRA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br />organization that promotes the sport of rodeo in our community while inspiring youth and <br />teaching sportsmanship, life skills, teamwork, responsibility, and exemplary citizenship; and <br />WHEREAS, HKRA supports the paniolo culture and history of Hawaii Island by <br />hosting four youth rodeo events throughout the year at the Pana`ewa Equestrian Center's Alvin <br />"Al" Cabral Rodeo Arena Grandstand; and <br />WHEREAS, the keiki rodeo events are drug- and alcohol -free, family -friendly events <br />that attract residents from around the island; and <br />WHEREAS, HKRA is requesting funds to purchase a portable generator, shelving for <br />the storage container at the arena, a timing scoreboard with case, and printer and toner for <br />posting contestant information, event lineups, scores, and other necessary information during the <br />keiki rodeo events; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports public programs that promote <br />drug- and alcohol -free events that enrich the lives of community members; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br />service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that <br />Contingency Relief fiends from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of <br />Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawaii Keiki Rodeo Association Inc. for expenses related <br />to its keiki rodeo events. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby <br />transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
