Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Bill No. 154, reports as follows:
Bill No. 154, transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa, via Communication No. 839 dated
April 12, 2024, amends Ordinance No. 23-51, as amended,relating to public improvements and
financing thereof for the fiscal year July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.
This bill adds the Parks and Recreation Spencer Kalani Schutte District Park Community
Center/Emergency Shelter—Private Project($750,000)to the Capital Budget. Funds for this project
shall be provided from Private Contributions,to construct a new multi-use community center/emergency
shelter facility at Spencer Kalani Schutte District Park. Funds for this project shall be provided from
Private Contributions to be used for the design,permitting, and other costs associated with the
construction of a new multi-use community center/emergency shelter facility at Spencer Kalani Schutte
Park.
Committee Member Matt Kaneali`i-Kleinfelder stated that this is the companion bill to
Resolution 500-24.
There was no further discussion on the matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 154, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
