Aloha,
This email is to support Cindy Evans bill to regulate Bike companies from using North Kohala roads as
part of their routes.
I have lived in North Kohala for 21 years and lived on other parts of the island for an additional20 years.
Every time I travel the mountain road from Waimea or the road to Pololu and see a group of cyc(ist, I just
say to myself," this is an accident waiting to happen". The roads are narrow, there are no shoulders, there
are blind curves. No one should be allowed to bike on those roads, period.
I have an electric bike that I love to ride in the back roads of Kohala. Tourist don't have that opportunity
which is too load. If you want tour companies to ride these dangerous roads then you need to widen the
roads and put in shoulders, impossible in many areas, or not allow riding in those areas.
