North Kohala Culture & History On June 11, 1872, M61 Lot Kapuaiwa issued a Royal Decree recognizing June
Advisory Group 11 as Kamehameha Day in honor of his beloved Grandfather, Pai'ea
P.O. Box 659 Kamehameha'Ekahi.
Kapaau, HI 96755 North Kohala is his one hanau, the sands of his birth, therefore, we fully

this 152-year-old tradition of honoring Kamehameha Pai'ea on his special
day.
We agree with the Resource Center in the overarching benefits of bringing
together community in solidarity and tradition.

legacy of this important day.
