Subject: South Hawai'i Animal Control
Aloha Council Members,
I live in Na'aluhu,close to Ocean View, Hawaii. I am very much in favor of a South Hawaii Animal Control location. As you
may be aware, last August a man lost his life after being mauled by a pack of dogs in Ocean view.After that attack,a map
was drawn up of approximately 14 locations where lose or wild dogs were known to be a threat to walkers(and their
pets).
Several months ago;we also lost our only local veterinarian in Ocean View,which was quite a blow to the community.
Spay and neuter options are few and far between, and we are grateful to the Petfix non-profit organization for
sometimes serving our local community.
These types of animal services are desperately needed and I asked that you please support the allocations of funds for an
animal control location,to help keep both animals and people safe.
