Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Bill No. 162, reports as follows:
Bill No. 162,transmitted by Finance Director Diane Nakagawa, via Communication No. 873 dated
April 26, 2024, amends Ordinance No. 23-50, as amended,the Operating Budget for the County of
Hawaii for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.
This bill appropriates revenues in the State Grants—Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle Grant account
($200,000); and appropriates the same to the Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle Grant account,to control green
waste,palms, and other"host material"to minimize breeding grounds of the Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle.
There was no discussion on this matter.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 162, and
recommends its passage on first reading.
