It has come to our attention that an amended page of the Highway Fund
program budget was inadvertently left out of the budget package. We request
that you replace page 211 of the Operating Budget Proposal, Volume II with the
attached page.

HIGHWAY FUND
Mission Statement
To maintain and continually make improvements to the County's roadway transportation
system to permit the safe and efficient movement of people and goods azound the island.
Department Goals
1. To provide leadership, administrative and technical support to accomplish Division
Programs.
2. To provide for the Public use, a safe roadway.
3. Be prepared to assist Civil Defense on emergencies..
4. Complete highway inventory records and maps.
5. Continue resurfacing program island wide.
6. Develop and implement operational and technical programs for traffic control
devices.
7. Provide timely maintenance of traffic control devices through improved scheduling of
projects and personnel.
8. Develop a system for rapid retrieval of records and documents to support litigation
and planning activities.
9. Establish programs to promote highway safety by the development and
implementation of highway safety standazds and procedures.
10. Operate and maintain traffic signal and street light programs for the County.
