Please see below proposed amendments to Resolution No. 496-24. The proposed amendments are shown in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Resolution No. 496-24; material to be deleted is bracketed and stricken, and material to be added is underscored. 1. The title is amended to read as follows: "A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRINGIAPPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO [IAWAI`I J EQUALITY HI TO SUPPORT [ICI THE 12Tn ANNUAL PRIDE FESTIVAL." 2. WHEREAS, Equality HI is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to proactively engage in creating an inclusive and diverse Queer community through aloha, leadership, resources, services, and education; and WHEREAS, Equality HI is providing fiscal sponsorship to Hawaii Island LGBTQ Pride's 12°' Annual Pride Festival, which brings members of the LGBTQ community together to affirm their fundamental rights and place in Hawaii County; and WHEREAS, the 12"' Annual Pride Festival will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the Mo`oheau Park bandstand; and WHEREAS, Equality HI is requesting funds to cover expenses for sound equipment rental fees, volunteer materials, keiki area and activities, security, and porta-potty rentals for the 12"' Annual Pride Festival; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations that promote family -friendly events and activities in a drug -free and alcohol -free environment; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I that Contingency Relief finds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Equality HI to support the 12"' Annual Pride Festival.
