May Residents of Hawaii are being displaced out of their island due to the cost of living and high taxes in Hawaii For those who have Rental Properties and whom are renting for less than the going rate to assist others to have housing---- Property Tax paid should be the lower cost like that of the Affordable Rental housing and Homeowner' cost of$5.40. Landlords are having to pay for repairs, and upkeep of their rental homes as well as Insurances,Taxes and Land tax and are not making any financial gains as the expenses are greater than the income. Residents of Hawaii who have been here for 20+years should have a land tax break and should be paying less than those who have just purchased property here in Hawaii Island. Land and buildings for the homeowners should be the lower amounts listed. Not understanding the Residential Tier One and Two also makes this a little confusing. Another item: If a landlord has a home to rent for affordable rental: the application for the affordable rental should be available when the home starts to be rented and not have to wait until OCTOBER to apply for the following year. Residents of Hawaii who have been here for 20+years should have a land tax break and should be paying less than those who have just purchased property here in Hawaii Island. Land and buildings for the homeowners should be the lower amounts listed. Many of our local people are moving out of the islands due to the cost of housing, land cost, and land tax hikes and the county council and local government have the means to make Hawaii cost effective and affordable for the people of Hawaii instead of the Locals being priced our of paradise. Much wasted money in new projects can be differed to the needed expenses of the current counties needs. NO to roundabouts---that money can be used for the roads, and stop light repairs and upgrades.
