Aloha Council, •
The purpose for this communication is to express my 'ohana's full support for Resolution 518-24. It
has been six (6) years since the historic eruption in Puna, and we are patiently awaiting our roads to
be restored. Pohoiki Road is a main arterial road which services all of Puna Makai.
With its reconstruction, Pohoiki Road will save 30 minutes drive time for our first responders and our
community.Our fishermen when returning to Pohoiki,will have to traverse all the way to Kalapana, in order to
get to Pohoiki. Our community in Puna has suffered greatly without our basic infrastructure in place,
especially when police and rescue personnel are thirty to forty(30-40)minutes away.
