Subject: Kalapana transfer station
Dear Council Members:
Please reopen the Kalapana transfer station for at least two or three days per week. There is a
definite need for this site to be open for more than a few hours once a week, as it is now,.
Cars zip in and out of the transfer station at an alarming rate. Everyone is anxious to get rid of his garbage
while the site is open. Often garbage is left outside the fence during days when the area is closed. This is
unsightly and attracts insects. Frustration is evident among those of us who dump their garbage once a
week. Vacation renters are unable to unload their garbage unless it is a Saturday. We pay enough taxes
to cover this cost.
Thank you for your consideration. I sincerely hope you will remedy this unfortunate and unnecessary
situation.
