To the Honorable Council Members,
Considering the traffic congestion and the terrible disaster in Lahaina, I hope the council will disapprove this project.
More traffic congestion without road improvements could result in a disaster on our beautiful island. We have
experienced wildfires in this area and traffic was rerouted. Traffic movement was at a snails pace and if the fire had
happened on a day where our wind was blowing the fire could have resulted in a Lahaina type situation. No where to go
and people left to run or die in their vehicle. Road improvements need to happen with our current infrastructure and if
a developer wants to add to that issue they should be required to first improve the roads. Show an evacuation plan,
water resource plan, and a traffic management plan. Climate change has proven itself on Maui. Not enough warning
time, no way to get out. Just my thoughts and I hope the council will take into consideration.
