SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Bill No. 140; an Ordinance Amending Chapter 20 of the
Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2016 Edition, as Amended), Relating to Solid Waste
Facilities.
Transmitted herewith is a proposed amendment to Bill No. 140. The amendment is shown below
in Ramseyer format with respect to the contents of Bill No. 140; material to be deleted is
bracketed and stricken, material to be inserted is underscored.
SECTION 2 of Bill No. 140, which amends chapter 20 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2016
Edition, as amended)by adding a new section, is amended to read as follows:
"Section 20-_-_. SWD facilities; minimum days of operation.
Any SWD facility used for the disposal, collection, and transfer of household solid
waste shall be operated and open to the public for such purposes no less than [two] three
days a week."
Due to the limited scope of this proposed amendment, a copy of the new draft of this bill that
would result if it were adopted is not attached.
