ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 15, ARTICLE 9, SECTION 15-72 OF THE
HAWAI`I COUNTY CODE 1983 (2016 EDITION,AS AMENDED), RELATING TO THE
PARKS AND RECREATIONAL FARMERS MARKET FACILITY SCHEDULE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I:.
SECTION 1. Purpose. The Department of Parks and Recreation recognizes the need to
periodically review the Hawaii County Code and implement a comprehensive update of the
parks and recreational farmers market facility schedule. This ordinance adds certain parks to
allow for the establishment of farmers markets in each district.
SECTION 2. Chapter 15, article 9, section 15-72 of the Hawaii County Code 1983
(2016 Edition, as amended) is amended to read as follows:
"Section 15-72. Farmers market facility schedule.
Farmers markets at County parks and facilities shall be designated by ordinance and
included within the following schedule:
FARMERS MARKETS
Hilo/Hamakua
Hakalau Veterans Park
Honoka`a Sports Complex
Ho`olulu Complex
Mo`oheau Park
Pepe`ekeo Community Center
Ka`u
Pahala Community Center
Kohala
Kamehameha Park
Waimea Park
Kona
Honaunau Rodeo Arena
Kailua Park
Puna
1
Volcano Park
William `Billy" Kenoi District Park
SECTION 5. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is
underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed and stricken material, and
underscoring need not be included.
SECTION 6. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application
thereof to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, the invalidity does not affect other
provisions or applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid
provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are severable.
SECTION 7. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
