All units have existing four year contracts expiring June 30, 1997. However, the contracts provided for reopening negotiations on certain items after two years. The arbitration decision covers the last two yeazs of the contracts, from July 1, 1995 through June 30, 1997. The cost items are summarized below: Units 3, 4, 63 and 84 • 2.25% across-the-boazd increase for all employees on July 1, 1996. • 2.25% across-the-board increase for all employees on January 1, 1997. • An increase in night differential pay from 45 to 55 cents per hour. Units 13 and 73 • 2.25% across-the-board increase for all employees on July 1, 1996. • Implementation of "shredding" plan to place all employees on the proper step in their salary range based on years of service on their anniversary dates during FY97.
