My family has owned and lived on our property for 11 years. I object to the subdivision only to help preserve the forest in Kaloko Mauka. Most people buy property in this subdivision and then bulldoze the land, which is heartbreaking for those that appreciate its natural and unique ecosystem. I would prefer to see the land preserved. I see no rules for helping maintain the diversity and natural setting of the land, so it is entirely up to the owners to decide what is destroyed and what is preserved. This is why I object to Bill 166. I acknowledge that the previous owner of my property did take down some trees where my house sits. However, I don't remove trees on my property and let the forest around my house be as it is: natural. I wish that others would do the same. I also acknowledge that the owner of the property has a right to subdivide and sell off the units for others to build their houses. Objecting to Bill 166 is my way of helping the forest. Respectfully, Michael Eldred (pc) 73-1551 Heneli PI Kailua-Kona, HI 96740 808.557.8213 =Z" • Comm. No a 1 S. Ref. To: 1 Ref. note JUN1 8 2024
